East Ferry Parish Meeting Held on Thursday 9 November 2017, At Ferry Farm, East Ferry

Meeting Opened:

7.33pm

Agenda

Numbers present:

13 Parishioners

Apologies of absence:

Louis Pettitt, Linda Pettitt, Mike Capaldi, Angie Capaldi, Angela May, Dee Nash, Diane Puncheon, Fran Evans, Emma Armstrong and Judith Richards.

Adoption of last minutes by:

Nick May

and seconded by Sally Wattam.

Matters arising from last minutes:

Highways – We have always had an issue with the position of the 30mph signs which are on the blind bend at the north end of the village and despite raising our concerns with the Highways department, they can only move them 10 yards from their original place. This would still leave them in a dangerous place on the bend. The clerk will contact Ms Clio Perraton Williams who is the local councillor for our area to see if she can help as she has ties with the Highways department.

Financial Reports:

All activity up to this meeting for the village account as from the end of March 2017. East Ferry Parish Meeting account – Annual Figures - Balance 31/03/2017 - £187:

In:

£100 Precept (1/4/17)

Out:

  • £30 Ada Johnson Wreath

Balance as at 9th November 2017 – £ 257.00.

Audit Paperwork:

Our annual audit paperwork was inspected and signed off. The books and audit paperwork are available to all if required.

Crime and village issues:

There have been numerous burglaries in the local area in surrounding villages and it is important as a rural community that we be extra vigilant and keep each other in the loop using our village Facebook page (East Ferry, Lincolnshire) with regards to any suspicious behaviour/individuals.

There is also a new Laughton Alert Facebook page which is used to notify people of suspicious activities in our local area on a wider scale – please join up for notifications.

It is essential that ALL suspicious activity be noted on social media as soon as it happens, as having ‘real time’ notifications is a huge benefit for many people.

As mentioned before, report anything suspicious and non-emergency to the local PCSO team on 0300 111 0300. Also see the ‘LINKS’ section on our Village website page (http://parishes.lincolnshire.gov.uk/EastFerry)

Green Bin Collections:

All should have received a copy of the information booklet handed out to all residents of West Lindsey regarding the new proposed Green Bin tariff. It is everyone’s choice if they wish to pay for their individual green bin collections going forward

Proposed Xmas Party:

All at the meeting agreed it would be nice to have a get together this year, so we shall see if we can organise something so late in the year.
